Billy Robbins, President, Technolink Association, was recently recognized by The United States House of Representatives for his leadership role in bridging the gap between start-up innovators and large companies and helping to build the new economic structure of Southern California. This recognition was submitted for Congressional Record by Congressman Brian Bilbray, California.

From Start-Up to Motorola

In the last five years, we have had the pleasure of watching Jon "Faiz"Kayyem take the dream of Clinical Micro Sensors Inc. and build it into a success story. One of our charter members, Dr. Kayyem was recently featured in The Los Angeles Business Journal regarding the sale of the company to the telecommunications giant Motorola. The company plans to release its first eSensor product in the second quarter of 2001. We congratulate Dr. Kayyem on his successes and salute his perseverance...

New Members

 

The Landon Foundation has become a new Supporter of the Association. Dr. Chris Landon, President of the Foundation, is also Director of the Pediatric Diagnostic Center, a hub for eight pediatric sub-specialties and a telemedicine project covering over fifty rural family practices spanning three countries. Dr. Landon is developing many innovative devices such as an electronic stethoscope, which will integrate existing telemedicine stations from farm workers in the fields to first colonist on Mars.

 

The National Association for Business Economics (NABE) has become a new Affiliate member. The Association, under the leadership of Ross DeVol, Chief Economist for the Milken Institute, has monthly lunch meetings addressing economic issues facing businesses today. Mr. DeVol is on the Advisory Board of Technolink, and works closely with legislators on economic policies and issues.

 

Pomona Unified School District (PUSD) has become a new Supporter of the Association. PUSD, under the visionary direction of Superintendent Patrick Leier, was honored by the National Association of School Boards with a Magna Award for Innovation for their nationally recognized project, The Village @Indian Hill.

 

Stanislawski & Harrison CPA has become a new Principal Supporter. A
full-service CPA firm, Stanislawski & Harrison is based in Pasadena and specializes in
all aspects of accounting from start-up to IPO.
